I'm sure the game itself doesn't need 2G ram to run, maybe some other reasons...

If you don't meet the required ram or w.e else that Boompje put, iLOL will probably still run but you might have low fps even if your settings are on low or you might lag more often....

It says 2GB ram because the client itself is 2GB and is stored on your hardrive

RAM or Random Access Memory pretty much limits what you can do on a computer without slowing it down eg Someone is using a computer with 4gb of RAM can do a lot more on their computer at the same time than someone using a computer with 2gb of RAM before it completely slows down

Many people will be cut from game again it seems... 10.5 is officially an old operating system and is no longer supported by Apple. I assume the LoL on Mac team is not supporting 10.5 for the same reason. Plus, it just flat out doesn't run iLoL. It would probably take a few more weeks/months in order to get it to work when the amount of 10.5 being used compare to 10.6 and 10.7 is kinda low.

Extremely stupid sounding question:
What is the difference between iLoL and and Boompje Mac Client (the thing that broke down?) I feel dumb for asking this but I'm very confused

I feel dumb for asking this but I'm very confused The difference is in a few things. They rewrote the launcher to better serve us. Also they changed the wrapper (think of it as an emulator) from cider to wine. This had to be done because cider was blocked by riot so they wouldn't piss off transgaming, the owner of cider.

If not, then doesn't the price of a £26 upgrade sound a lot cheaper? Just ask your parents if you can borrow the money - say if you get this upgrade, then you won't need to buy a new mac for a few more years.

It's already a miracle they could make the client working in the first place. I know for some people it may be hard financially. But if you can buy a mac, they aren't cheap in comparison with Windows. A new OS X for mac is cheaper then a new pair of shoes! Plus, everyone with an old OS X has to upgrade someday. So why not now?
