Herro Boompje team, I was just wondering about the new client, like if it's the same as Boompje Edition, or is it going to be more different than that. And if its going to be installed the same.
Thanks for your hard work :3

It'll have a different launcher/patcher. The rest of the client will be the same.

Okay, so are you in the testing phase of it via bots, or are you still working on the patcher/launcher. Also what are you doing to make Riot not being able to block it?

in the recent patch all cider clients seem to have been blocked. by using wine we avoid this and there's no potential for legal trouble because we aren't using the cider versions Transgaming made

you will have to download the whole thing again. we know it's an inconvenience but not much we can do about that

I thought the reason the old client (and iLoL) was ditched was due to coding within the game client that proved insurmountable for the mac team to overcome.
So what would prevent further versions from breaking down?

you have a test client, why not lets us test! lol Yeah, lol, without any client we got enormous amount of questions (most the same! xD), with one that only 'looks-like working somehow tricky' that enormous amount would multiple into infinity. Not to mention how much works would answering all that take.. What I am thinking is how low FPS's can drop with wine-based client? Someone said: below 10fraps, but is it connected with wine itself? Or optimisation of used methodes (lines of codes etc?) Would it be also possible to mess with client to gain as many fraps as possible (by shutting down all that unnecessary 'fireworks' - font shadows and so on)? Or that all wont be changed cause its only "loader/patcher" that's differ?

So I can for sure uninstall Boompie Edition right? Yeah, pretty much. iLoL will be more flexibile so we can fix issues more easily. There's really no reason to continue the Boompje client anymore.

I thought the reason the old client (and iLoL) was ditched was due to coding within the game client that proved insurmountable for the mac team to overcome. So what would prevent further versions from breaking down? In the most recent patch there is some code that makes clients using cider crash and exit. we weren't able to find a way to work around this. the solution is to make a client that doesn't use cider. in this case wine
