This might be a stupid question, but when the client is re-released and all of the LoL on Mac community tries to download it, wouldn't the site be in danger of crashing? Just a thought.
- and on a sidenote would it affect the download time?
as mentioned, this might be a stupid question, but I don't know much about domain crashes, mass downloads or anything like that.

until now they always uploaded that on rapidshare and similars or created a torrent. if you use the 1st one you would probably get in some time, but the rapishare servers are a little better than those of riot. if you use the torrent, more people=faster

Oh obviously! Didn't think about the torrent option at all. So I guess it was a stupid question after all! Haha, thanks for clearing it out for my bird brain though.

We will not upload a torrent this time, because of our auto-updated and issues it might give if someone downloads an outdated torrent.
We use several file hosts, besides our own server. We probably won't upload it on our own server the first day, since it has only a 100 megabit/second upload rate (that's only 12.5 megabyte/second!). Our own server also hosts an auto-updated for iLoL, everyone probably has to download a patch from it, so we want to prevent that it takes an hour to download 10 MB from our server.
The download time from RapidShare and 4Shared will remain unaffected and I don't expect any problems @riot servers either.

Sweet! As long as we all can download it without causing any problems anywhere im happy! As i said it was just a (stupid) thought that occurred to me. And Riot doesn't seem to care all that much about mass downloading from their site either since they use to release everything all at once everywhere. So there is probably no reason to worry. (Guess I'm just afraid of anything going wrong, so I can't play LoL).

regrettably no. we have one critical bug to iron out then we should be ready to get the client prepared for distribution. I think i saw a post where boompje estimated another 3 days. it all really depends on this one last bug. (unless another one appears in which case venasaur will have to use solar beam )
