Just to let you know the link for smcFanControl Boompje made is broken.
Also, how do you use it?

It works, if anything find it in google. It will be a toolbar type where you normally check your battery, sound, time and date and even internet connection.
Reads something like 65 C 1997rpm.

This link should be working www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontroland once you installed it you can set presets for your fans. I guess Boompje suggests to set the fanspeed a little highter, to keep your CPU (and the other components) cooler which can increase the performance Edit: picklepandas it's not necessary to use it at all, it's just a suggestion. It can increase the performance on iMacs as well (at least it does for me). You won't notice that much of a difference while your brightness is low but once you make your iMac a little brighter it starts producing quite a lot of heat, which eventually can slow down the system, if your room's quite warm, too

What value RPM is acceptable? I heard that if you have it too high for too long, it could damage your mac... And what temperature should it normally be?

How come mine only has 1 fan which is Exhaust whenever I go to preferences?? is your macbook pro the new 13inch ones 2011? because in the latest macbook pro 13inch the intel gpu is integrated into the cpu, therefore there really is only the need to cool the cpu thus only 1 fan shown. I only have 1 fan using a macbook pro 13inch early 2011 i5
